Dr Disrespect gives surprising verdict on Apex Legends battle pass

Respawn Entertainment might be quenching the thirst of Apex Legends fans by finally giving them the Season 1 Battle Pass they’ve been waiting for, but Dr Disrespect doesn’t think it’s going to do much for the ‘evaporating’ game.

The popular Twitch streamer, who has over 3.3 million followers on the platform, has previously discussed how he is burnt out with Apex Legends due to a lack of new content.

Now, he believes that despite the incoming Season 1 Battle Pass – which is set to bring a brand new legend, Octane, to the game and a number of balance changes – the game isn’t going to improve as a result.

G FUELDr Disrespect doesn’t seem to see a bright future for Apex Legends, in its current state.

“Apex is quickly evaporating,” he said during a stream on March 18. “Here’s what the season pass is going to do… Is it going to take it to the next level? No. Not in my opinion.”

The Season 1 Battle Pass is expected to land on March 19, after leaks previously touted that March 12 was the date for players to mark on their calendars. However, judging by these comments, Dr Disrespect doesn’t seem as excited as some fans have been in the buildup to its launch.

“With excitement, with interest, it’s kind of already tapering off – actually, pretty quickly. I think the season pass is just going to bump it up just a little bit in terms of [allowing them to] sustaining it. That’s why content is so important.”

The Doc, as many of his fans will know, always tends to put an emphasis on new content when giving his verdict on a game. In the case of Apex Legends, he clearly thinks there might be a problem later down the road.
