Respawn Entertainment have finally announced Season 3 of Apex Legends, which will be called Meltdown, along with its release date and a preview of the new content.

The highly anticipated third season of Apex Legends is now a reality, as Respawn put out a flurry of new details about it on September 19.

As has been the case with the previous two seasons, Meltdown will introduce a new Legend, weapon, Battle Pass and more into the world of the popular battle royale title.

When does Apex Legends Season 3: Meltdown release?

Respawn have confirmed that Season 3 will kick off on October 1, which will be accompanied with a massive update that will add all of the new content and changes into the game.

Here is the first official trailer for Meltdown:

What’s new in Apex Legends Season 3: Meltdown?

New Legend: Crypto

Crypto will be the newest Legend that players will be able to play as in Kings Canyon, which doesn’t come as a major surprise considering all of the info that was leaked prior to this announcement, and the fact that he was even briefly shown in-game recently.

While Crypto’s three abilities have not been officially confirmed, Respawn did offer a hint with this in-game description: “Cool, calm, collected Crypto deploys specialized surveillance drones to stay in the fight and out of the spotlight.”

New weapon: Charge Rifle

Season 3 will introduce a brand new weapon called the Charge Rifle, which looks like it will be an energy-based weapon that will release a direct beam of energy instead of firing rounds.

“Carve your way across the Arena with this obliterating directed-energy weapon,” reads the official description.

New Battle Pass

Meltdown will add a whole new Battle Pass for players to level up and earn new rewards. There will be “over 100 exclusive items” offered, including Legendary skins, packs, and new types of content that will debut in Season 3.

Ranked Series 2

Respawn have decided to make some major changes to Ranked Play for Season 3, overhauling some of the aspects from the second season, including things like scoring, entry RP cost, multipliers, rewards, and more.

That is the extent of what has been officially announced for Season 3: Meltdown in Apex Legends, and Respawn have stated that more details will be revealed before the new campaign kicks off.

Apex Legends player finds bug that makes Lifeline’s drones unbreakable

An Apex Legends player discovered a new bug the hard way when Lifeline’s Drone acted indestructible when they tried to shoot through it to get to an enemy, failing miserably.

Lifeline has been in Apex since day 1, and has been a go-to legend ever since primarily for her powerful healing abilities. Even though we’ve had well over a year to learn her kit, some bugs are still popping up.

We all know the futility of trying to attack a Lifeline’s shield while she rezzes a teammate, but it’s also worth noting that a new bug is turning her healing drone invulnerable, making it impossible to destory.

Name a better Apex Legends duo, we’ll wait.

That’s right, while it may be small, with the bug it sure is mighty, though to be fair you don’t often see the Drone being used as cover, because so far it’s been destructible.

So, the clip below can really teach us two lessons here: think twice before shooting through the drone, and that Lifelines should think about crouching behind it whenever possible, because you never know, right?

In the shot, Reddit user TheChapelOfWhite comes upon the unsuspecting healer and seems to be well on their way to an easy kill. That is until they empty a full clip into the drone, which does nothing but alert the other player and their squad.

After that, ChapelOfWhite is unceremoniously cut down by Lifeline’s teammates who appear almost instantly to protect their support.

It turns out Lifeline drones are indestructible, I had no idea. from apexuniversity

It’s an embarrassing way to go out, that’s for sure, but instead of tossing their controller out the window and swearing off Apex for a few days as some would have done, they instead took to Reddit to post the clip of the apparent glitch.

With so many new legends added in between release and where we are now, it’s kind of crazy that this hasn’t happened, or at least been shared before. Lifeline is one of the most popular legends to play as well, so it is a bit wild we’re just now seeing this bug.
