Apex Legends player uses Caustic trap bug to secure epic win

An Apex Legends player used one of the game’s latest bugs to their advantage when they sent a Caustic Nox Gas Trap flying across the ground at an opponent to secure an epic, and extremely unlikely, victory.

As with most games, players who jump onto Apex Legends can be greeted by bugs, and one such issue is currently affecting Caustic’s Nox Gas Trap.

When thrown on the ground, the traps seem to have a mind of their own, uprooting from their position and flying across the ground, often ending up crazy distances away from where the Caustic had initially intended them to be.

While this could certainly be frustrating if you had a specific use for them in mind, one Apex Legends player showed some remarkable quick thinking, using the glitch to his advantage to pull off an insane victory in a match that seemed to be decisively lost.

Just one opposing squad was remaining, and with nobody on their team to help them, Reddit user Crixux found themselves in a 1v1 situation, taking damage from their opponent.

With some quick reactions, Crixux threw down his Nox Trap, before getting knocked by his opponent as he tried to revive himself for a final confrontation. Incredibly, his hastily-placed trap suddenly started to zoom towards his weakened opponent, dealing just enough damage to knock him down instead, and secure the win.

Of course, this glitch is more frustrating than it is useful, especially if you were using the gas to protect you or cover an entrance, and suddenly it goes zooming away leaving you alone as it zooms across World’s End.

In certain scenarios, though, it clearly works to players’ advantages, as Crixux found out.

As for a fix, Respawn Entertainment have yet to address the issue publicly, but fans will be hopeful of a resolution in the game’s next major update.
