An underrated Dragon Ball character is finally getting the respect he deserves

While fans debate who’s the better character in Dragon Ball, one specific character that blows us away with his dedication is getting the admiration he finally deserves. He may not be able to go Super Saiyan, but he has three eyes.

Dragon Ball contains a wide cast of characters spanning across several series, so it’s hard to keep track of them, especially when the situation often comes down to Goku stepping in and saving the day at the last minute, taking all credit and attention away from the supporting cast.

We usually see the likes of Goku or Vegeta in the limelight, dishing out the most damage against the villains, much to fans’ praise. However, the underrated Tien Shinhan appears to be getting more legitimate credit for his role in the Dragon Ball story and the impact he’s made on the audience.

Dragon Ball Fans are finally giving Tien recognition

Recent praise of Tien Shinhan, an underrated character introduced in Dragon Ball, has surfaced more and more lately, possibly as satire. However, the admiration appears to be sincere after a post shared by u/Capitano-Solos-All on the Dragon Ball Super subreddit.

In the Dragon Ball community Tien has become an underdog everyone looks up to – where his friend Yamcha retired from fighting, Tien stayed in the game. Even though he isn’t as strong as the top contenders of the Z Warriors he’ll still make a stand against villainy, that alone makes him worthy of respect.

Tien’s biggest claim to fame is during the heat of the Cell Saga where he refuses to be a bystander while Cell attempts to absorb Android 18 and achieves his perfect form. Holding off Cell for as long as he can and almost getting himself killed in the process so they can escape. Though fans sometimes simply go along with the appreciation for the sake of a joke.

Tien Shinhan was a very praised character back in the original Dragon Ball series, considered to be a welcome character with an interesting redemption story before being sidelined in Dragon Ball Z. We can only hope that Dragon Ball Daima will give the three-eyed warrior another moment to shine in the spotlight once again.
