With the Pokemon Go Dazzling Dream event in full swing, some players are reporting an uptick in Shiny odds, and it features Pokemon that many weren’t expecting.

For Pokemon Go players the New Year is already off to a bumper start, with the Lustruous Odyssey event now in the rearview mirror, and many players taking part in the Pokemon Go Dazzling Dream event to bag themselves some Fairy-type Pocket Monsters.

Fans were aware that this latest event would introduce a new Shiny Pokemon, with the addition of Shiny Cutiefly to the game. However, with just a couple of days left on the clock, some fans are reporting that this event is actually offering more than it initially seemed.

Dazzling Dream event seemingly features boosted Shiny odds for Spritzee and Swirlix

In a Reddit post shared by Pokemon Go player stevietodd, they commented saying, “PSA: Spritzee and Swirlix are shiny-boosted during this Dazzling Dream event.” Then, they followed up, adding, “Hadn’t seen it reported anywhere yet but both have boosted odds in the wild right now.”

Not everyone is convinced, with one person asking, “How do we know this for sure?” Another adds, “what makes you say that?” Frustratingly, there doesn’t seem to be a solid answer in the thread, but many others are reporting increased Shiny luck, adding some credence to the post.

One person comments, “Ahhh ok, caught a shiny swirlix today and a green shiny thingy, whatever his name is lol, I typically catch a shiny like every 3 days or something so 2 in one day is kinda big for me ngl.”

Then, another person adds, “PoGoCentral are reporting full odds for both.” Before another user answers, saying, “Because they’ve always been full odds, so this came out if nowhere, but they are definitely boosted, looking like they got the ~1/125 shiny rate.”

With Niantic yet to comment on this change to the official event details, it seems players should take the information with a grain of salt. However, even anecdotally the Shiny odds do seem to have been improved, so if you’re after these Pokemon, it might be time to play some Pokemon Go.
