WoW Season of Discovery devs block Waylaid Supplies XP farm

After players began looking for ways to skip the bulk of the leveling process in World of Warcraft: Season of Discovery Phase Two, Blizzard began to address potential exploits individually. Now, those who stockpile Waylaid Supplies are in for a major disappointment.

In Season of Discovery, there is a staggered leveling system in place. This means that in the first instance players were only able to reach Level 25. In the upcoming Phase Two this will be increased to 40, before eventually heading to 50 and 60.

As a result, players have been looking for ways to stockpile sources of XP. This would then theoretically mean skipping a bunch of levels at the start of Phase Two. One of the major ways to do this was identified as Waylaid supplies.

Unfortunately, those who spent a long time accumulating as many as possible may find that it has all been for nothing.

Waylaid Supplies will not reward XP beyond Level 25

In a detailed response to a post enquiring about Waylaid Supplies on Twitter/X, Senior Game Producer Josh Greenfield confirmed that turning the crates in will not provide XP beyond Level 25.

For those who are not aware, Waylaid Supplies have a chance to drop from mobs throughout Azeroth. They can be turned in to earn reputation with the associated Alliance or Horde faction, granting some XP to the player in the process.

Many had assumed that farming for these towards the end of the first phase would be a good way to level quickly. Simply wait for the second phase of the game and turn them in for big XP and a major headstart on the competition. This will now be an impossibility.

Season of Discovery Phase Two is set to launch on February 8. The game has remained hugely popular since its original launch and the developer will be looking to carry that momentum through to the later phases.
