FACEIT has revealed the logistics behind players competing in the Overwatch Champions Series.

FACEIT has showcased in a new post how players can get into the Open Qualifiers for the OWCS and how “seamless” the process should be.

The tournament organizer has been running competitive circuits in multiple esports titles for years and has even created competitive servers for games like Counter-Strike. With the implosion of the Overwatch League, the organizer has stepped in and is running the esport in what looks to be an incredibly easy-to-follow format.

Through online tournaments, Overwatch 2 players can get a team together and try to qualify for the circuit’s stages and Major tournaments.

Unlike the Overwatch League and its Contenders series, anyone can test their skills in the OWCS against pro players and aspiring gamers alike.

FACEIT said in an update that it has been working behind the scenes with Blizzard to develop an automated connection between Overwatch and its platform.

“This API will soon be live on the FACEIT platform and will help us ensure we are able to scale the amount of team OWCS Open Qualifier sign-ups. This technology will enable our platform to provide you with a smooth and seamless tournament experience where playing is much less cumbersome with much less manual actions you’ll have to perform,” the update said.

By signing up, players will be able to load into match rooms and be able to pick their Heroes and veto maps. The results of the match, and whether there were any leavers or AFK players, will be immediately collected by FACEIT.

The organizer said that it will also be taking feedback about the system and will be listening to players throughout the process.
