The Loot Lake Floating Island is moving in Fortnite

More map changes are on the way to Fortnite as the mysterious Floating Island appears to be on the move.

The official Fortnite Twitter hinted at the coming changes, tweeting the following image with the caption “Darkness Rises… are you prepared?”

Shortly after the tweet, Fortnite streamer CouRage noticed that the Island and cube had shifted.

He flew around the Island, clearly demonstrating it had shifted from its original position.

The new position of the island allows players to access the tornado in Loot Lake, which will launch those brave enough to jump in. CouRage tested it out for himself.

The Cube at the bottom of the island was a major part of Fortnite’s Season 5 mystery, moving around the map to various locations before disappearing in Loot Lake.

Season 6 launched on September 28 and revealed the Cube had returned from the lake, carrying the new Floating Island.

The island is expected to move around the map throughout Season 6, with some players already reporting they spotted the island above Salty Springs while in Playground Mode.
