Stacey Tourout and Matthew Yeomans, the creators behind the popular YouTube channel Toyota World Runners, have died following a horrific off-roading crash in British Columbia, Canada.
The pair, who had over 200,000 subscribers and were known for documenting their adventurous backcountry trips, were killed on Thursday, August 7, according to Canadian state media and statements from friends and family.
Kaslo Search and Rescue (SAR) confirmed they were called to the scene of a motor vehicle rollover near Silver Cup Ridge, adjacent to Trout Lake in the Purcell Range, at around 6:30 p.m. local time.
“Two ground teams were dispatched immediately, supported by a quad team for rapid access,” SAR said in a statement. “The team was also able to secure a local helicopter and pilot to assist. Given the potential severity of injuries and the limited daylight remaining, air support was critical.”
Rescuers found one individual with no vital signs and another, located away from the crash site, who was disoriented and suffering from serious injuries.

The injured victim was flown to Nakusp Hospital, where she later died. The second victim was recovered from the mountain with the help of police and the coroner.
While the cause of the crash remains under investigation, SAR’s manager suggested a loss of control on rough terrain may have been a factor.
