Asmongold explains why WoW Classic devs are “geniuses”

Top World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold thinks the developers at Blizzard are “geniuses” for their creation, even speculating that there could be some kind of divine intervention because the game is just that good.

Asmongold is comfortably the biggest name in WoW streaming, proven by the fact that when Classic released on August 26, he shot to the top of Twitch with over 290,000 concurrent viewers, almost triple that of second-placed Sodapoppin.

He has been gearing up for the release of Classic for months, hyping up the game, and it looks like it has more than met his expectations.

Blizzard EntertainmentWoW Classic was an instant success – and Asmongold has been the number 1 streamer.

During one of his lengthy streams on August 27, Asmon heaped praise on the developers, saying: “These guys are fucking geniuses.”

“The sublime genius of the game… I think to myself like, ‘man, there’s no way I could ever think that shit up,” he continues, before suggesting that perhaps God himself had a hand in WoW Classic’s development.

“How is this game even made? You know how people ask ‘how is the bible so good, it must have been written by God because it’s that good’, I think that with Classic WoW. Was Classic WoW divinely inspired? The jury is still out, we can’t be sure.”

The fact that Classic WoW even exists in 2019 is somewhat fortunate, as Blizzard President J Allen Brack infamously said in 2013 that even though players ‘thought’ they wanted it, they didn’t really: “You don’t want to do that either. You think you do, but you don’t.”

Clearly, Brack has been proven wrong, after the massive success of the game immediately after launch, peaking at over 1 million Twitch viewers, and more servers had to be added due to the high demand.

Those who didn’t manage to get into the game right away were then instantly hopping on Twitch to watch people like Asmongold, Sodapoppin and shroud, all three of which have been pulling in more viewers than normal for their broadcasts.
