Valorant will now record voice chat to combat “disruptive” behavior

Riot Games have announced the launch of a voice evaluation system in Valorant that will help tackle in-game disruptive behavior and toxicity.

In-game toxicity and disruptive behaviors are a huge problem plaguing multiplayer games. Valorant is no exception regarding this and there have been countless reports of players having to face unwanted disruptions in their game caused by their own teammates.

Because of this, Riot Games has taken several measures to combat disruptive behavior in Valorant. Their latest initiative is the release of a background voice evaluation system that can report specific periods of disruptive behavior.

A voice Evaluation System is coming to Valorant

The Voice Evaluation system could be a huge step towards battling disruptive behavior in Valorant.

Before getting started with the details of this new feature, you should note that the initial release on July 13 will only be for the North American region and the evaluation will be conducted in English only. However, you won’t be able to use this feature to report players during the initial background release.

Rather, Riot Games has confirmed that the initial days of this feature are to simply test the effectiveness of voice evaluation as well as the rate of error in the automated system. The developers have confirmed that the feature will be ready to report disruptive behavior when the beta is released later this year.

Given that the technology is fairly new in multiplayer video games, it will be interesting to see how the entire thing works out. However, it’s safe to say that if the voice evaluation system works as intended, Valorant will be a lot safer and more inclusive environment for anyone who chooses to play it.
