The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Episode 2 puts the focus on Michonne and her journey, but does Jadis finally show up? Here’s what you need to know.

In a world overrun by the undead, it’s usually fellow humans who inflict the most devastation in The Walking Dead. In fact, many of the most shocking moments and deaths come at the hands of the show’s finest villains.

One antagonist who gets less of the spotlight in The Walking Dead is Jadis, a Civil Republic Military operative who devotes herself to the warped ideology of the organization. As such, she is willing to sacrifice whatever and whoever the CRM deems necessary in their ongoing mission.

With The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live‘s second episode still taking place within the CRM’s clutches, many fans want to know: does Jadis make an appearance? Warning: spoilers ahead!

Yes, Jadis appears at the end of The Ones Who Live Episode 2.

While Rick seems silenced by shock at her appearance, Jadis goes on to remind him that she knows who Michonne really is. She also reveals that she knows where his family and group are, and that if they try to escape, she will kill them all.

As she says: “My hands are already covered in blood. They can’t get any bloodier.”

Who is Jadis?

Jadis is a character from The Walking Dead on-screen universe, who was initially part of the Scavengers survival community and later became part of the Civil Republic Military.

Jadis isn’t a comic book character, and initially only appeared in The Walking Dead and World Beyond. At first, she was the leader of the Scavengers. The Scavengers (otherwise known as the ‘Garbage People’) appeared in The Walking Dead as a community of survivors who have taken to living in a dump.

As their leader, Jadis (who first goes by the name Anne) initially speaks in a very odd, distinct speech pattern, just like the rest of the group. Later, when members of their community are killed, she reverts back to her normal self.

She also hides a connection with the CRM, keeping in communication with them and delivering them survivors that they designate as ‘A’s. Eventually, she leaves to become part of their organization in full. In Season 9 of the original series, she is the one who saves Rick after the bridge explosion, loading him into a CRM helicopter.

In The Walking Dead: The World Beyond, Jadis is fully integrated into the CRM. Her loyalty and devotion is to them, and she even supports them across their horrific acts of destruction, including the Genocide of Omaha. It’s here that she takes on her moniker ‘Jadis Stokes’.

As a Warrant Officer, Jadis commits herself to capturing and punishing those who go against the CRM and their reconstruction of civilization.
