No one doubts shroud’s skill as a gamer, especially in FPS games, but facing the professional Cloud9 Rainbow Six Siege roster would be too much for even shroud… right?
Unsurprisingly, wrong. Shroud, formerly a professional Counter-Strike player for C9, more than held his own up against the pro players, giving them a very close match.
He had been trying out some ranked Rainbow Six when he and his squad stumbled across the entire Cloud9 team, who were presumably getting some practice in.
They dropped the first two rounds, but shroud’s big three-piece helped give his team some momentum, and they picked up a few rounds after that too.
Stuck in a 2v4 situation, shroud did shroud things - taking out three of Cloud9’s top talents in close quarters with lightning quick reactions and precision.
His team did eventually go on to lose the match 5-3, but considering the C9 players were all diamond ranked, it didn’t hurt shroud’s own rank too much.
Often regarded as one of the finest PC players of first person shooters on Twitch, shroud has taken his talents from CS:GO to PUBG, Fortnite, Call of Duty and now Rainbow Six.
His channel is the third most followed on the site (recently surpassed for 2nd by TSM Myth), and he regularly attracts well over 30,000 concurrent viewers.
Unfortunately this means that for those of us who would like to see shroud back playing professional esports, it is increasingly unlikely as he continues his dominance on Twitch.
But if Cloud9 ever needed a last-minute substitute for the Rainbow Six team, who knows, they may just call up an old friend, after seeing this clip.
