As the former Starcraft 2 player was a highly popular figure in the world of esports, tributes have been pouring in from members of the community who were shocked to learn the news.
Robinson’s ex-wife Anna Prosser stated that nothing she posted “would properly express my grief and shock” and praised Geoff for always being “a beacon of love, laughter and leadership.” She said the former Evil Geniuses star “exemplified what it was to be a good man” and the world was “profoundly blessed to have had him.”
Geoff has been a binding and bridging force in his family always, and by his example we are all working together to honor him and support each other. Thanks for privacy, patience, and for the joy and caring each of you brought him. You, his community, were truly loved by him too.

Reactions from the esport community
Twitch’s Creative Director Marcus ‘djWHEAT’ Graham said he was “honored” to have shared so many moments with the commentator, stating that Geoff’s brain was “amazing”. You can view more comments from personalities in esports below.
Geoff’s brain was amazing and I have a hard time believing that we won’t have his wit, sincerity, and comedy around to make us laugh and smile. I am also saddened by how many communities will feel this loss. But that just shows the impact he has made.

In 2015 I was having a very bad time of things. Constant gloom and misery. We did a 2 day event together in the UK and he spent all his down time big brothering me and lending advice and perspective. A colossus in body and soul.

Rest In Peace @iNcontroLTV . There will only ever be one of you. You brought so much joy and laughter to me and so many others. I just wish I could have said goodbye. Just because you die young doesn’t mean your story won’t live forever.

I've known Geoff for almost 20 years. We played Brood War in high school & college and did years of SC2/BW events together. Geoff was a one-of-a-kind person. I'll miss you man. I'm so sad. https://t.co/Rcv6qb1sEs

I am speechless, what a heartbreaking thing to be reading. One of the friendliest most radiant people I've ever met. I'm shocked, all my thoughts are with his family.

Truly a huge loss to the world. I, and many of the casters I've worked with, found great inspiration from iNcontrol. https://t.co/0g6gnSupyc

I don’t really know what to say. I’m going to miss Geoff so much. He was such a big deal to everyone he encountered.
Here’s something I know meant a lot to him, maybe it’ll remind you of a time he had an effect on you, too.https://t.co/8vYZ2lzNtV

I woke up to this incredibly sad news and I'm left in shock.
Geoff was a showman, hilariously funny and larger than life. I'm grateful I got to work with him and be brilliantly mocked by his impressions.
My heart goes out to Anna and all his family and friends.
RIP Geoff 🙁 https://t.co/2y2a9n6lVf

RIP iNcontroL.. Met him at Lone star clash in Texas in 2014 and he took some time to talk to me when I recognized him and asked him for a picture about being a pro…
Didn't know him well as a person but as a personality he was for sure great for all scenes.

Robinson’s family have confirmed that he passed away quickly and painlessly, suffering from a blood clot in his lungs.
To offer some solace in this time of grief: We've learned that Geoff passed quickly and painlessly from a blood clot in his lungs. He was with friends. He always urged and led us by example to take care of ourselves to the best of our ability. Remember to do that for him today. pic.twitter.com/3TJBtP40If
