The long wait for the game is almost over as that elusive November 15 release date beckons. While much of the game’s content has already been revealed officially, including Gigantamaxing species that will grow much larger than usual, some huge leaks surfaced just days before launch.

Included in those leaks were not only further information of the story mode, including post-game details, differences between the two new games, but also a number of new Galar Region Pokemon were revealed as well. There are a few familiar names, although they do look very different.

Note: These Pokemon were revealed in leaks, which have since been deleted.

What we learned from leaks

New Corsola form and evolution

Leaked information shows that inside the Galar Region even more species that have never been known to evolve are going to. Corsola will finally have its moment.

It is, though, a different type of Pokemon in the new games, switching water-type with ghost instead. Corsola will evolve into Cursola and both of them appear to be white in color, too, instead of pink.

New Meowth form and evolution

Another eye-catching discovery is that Meowth is going to be part of the games, but will evolve into something different to what we would usually expect. Persian has been replaced by Perserker – and it’s very different to anything we’ve seen before.

Meowth, for those who don’t already know, is one of the select few that has the ability to Gigantamax as well.

New Mr. Mime form and evolution

A Galar Region Mr. Mime is going to be included in the game, which is expected to be in both titles, and it will actually evolve as well. Behold… Mr. Rime is coming soon.

Both of these new characters have featured in leaked images and appear to have adapted to their new surroundings with new looks.

Pokemon, YouTubeSirfetch’d and many others have been confirmed for Pokemon Sword and Shield.

There are also another few Galar Region forms confirmed for the game as well, with a new-look Weezing, Ponyta, Zigzagoon and Sirfetch’d joining the fray.

With just days before Pokemon fans can finally access all of the new content in-game, and clearly a raft of fresh faces to look for, how long will it take you to complete this year’s Pokedex? We’ll have to wait and see.
