How to get Zarude in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Zarude, the lone Mythical Pokemon in Gen 8, was available for a brief time in the past, but players will have to seek help if they want it to their team.

Zarude is a powerful Dark/Grass-type Pokemon that acted as the central focus of Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle, where it raised a human child as its own. As such, an alternate version, Dada Zarude, wears the pink cape given to it by its son, though the difference is only cosmetic. Both have identical stats and abilities.

Zarude and Dada Zarude were once available via codes in Pokemon Sword & Shield, but those have long since expired. Here’s how you can acquire one for yourself.

How to get Zarude in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Pokemon Go Zarude

In Pokemon Sword & Shield, the only way to acquire Zarude and Dada Zarude is by trading for one with another player!

This is because the event codes for Zarude and Dada Zarude have expired and can no longer be claimed, even if you possess one or buy one from a reseller.

While Zarude is available in Pokemon Go, you can’t trade it from Pokemon Home to Pokemon Sword & Shield without having seen one before or registered in your Pokedex.

Luckily, there are plenty of online communities for Pokemon trading, so it’s not too difficult to find people to trade with you. If you attend Pokemon events in real life, then you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding a Zarude, especially as it was readily available via download codes.

That’s everything you need to know about acquiring Zarude and Dada Zarude in Pokemon Sword & Sheild. Here are some other guides that will help you on your journey through the Galar region:
