Niantic have confirmed that Gen 6 species are coming to Pokemon Go on December 2. Now, thanks to a datamine from the PokeMiners, we have a list of Pokemon originating from the Kalos region found in the game’s code.

Gen 6 Pokemon DatamineGen 6 assets found in the Pokemon Go code…

That’s already 21 of the 72 new species the Kalos region introduces. However, just because the assets of these Pokemon have been found in the Pokemon Go game files, doesn’t necessarily mean they will be available on December 2.

According to the Pokemon Go blog we can expect to see all of the above minus Scatterbug, Espurr, Meowstic, Noibat and Noivern. Meanwhile, Klefki will only be appearing for trainers in France.

That means the other five will be coming at a later date. Given they are already in the code though, this shouldn’t be too far away. Alternatively, they could be appearing on December 2 but Niantic didn’t announce them to leave a surprise.

It was also announced there will be a mysterious Pokemon appearing in one-star Raid Battles. This could very well be Scatterbug, Espurr or Noibat.

What we know about these new Kalos Pokemon

The Kalos starter Pokemon – Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie – are definitely available from the outset. They follow the usual grass, fire and water typings but their final evolutions introduce some interesting combinations.

Chesnaught is a grass/fighting type, Delphox fire and psychic and the ever popular Greninja is water and dark. In terms of weaknesses to resistances, these typings favor Delphox and Greninja.

Elsewhere, Noibat will require a massive 400 Candies, the same as Magikarp. It will be interesting to see if consequently Noivern plays any type of role in the game’s meta.

The Gen 5 rollout is still yet to be complete and has been going on for well over a year. The Gen 6 Pokedex is a lot smaller though, which means its entire rollout should take less than a year.
