When does Overwatch Season 12 end? Ranks, rewards and more

We’re past the halfway point of Season 12 for Overwatch’s competitive playlist, but how much time do you have left to get to that coveted Grandmaster rank? Here’s everything you need to know.

Competitive Play is the ranked playlist for Overwatch and sees players locked into each game for a full map. You need to reach level 25 before the mode becomes available.

Modes include Escort, Assault, Control and Hybrid and each player must take part in a total of 10 placement matches before being allocated their initial rank for each season.

Ranking is based on a Skill Rating (SR) that ranges from 1 to 5,000, and each skill tier falls somewhere on that spectrum.

When does Season 12 end?

Competitive Overwatch seasons last for around two months. Season 12 is expected to end on October 28 at 17:00 PT (For European players, it will end on October 28 at 01:00).

That gives you just under a month (at the time of writing this article) to grind out those competitive match wins and earn a greater reward at the end of the season.

What is the Skill Rating for each tier?

Your SR will change after every match that you play depending on the result. The tiers begin at Bronze and advance all the way to Grandmaster.

The SR required for each of these ranks is as follows:

  • Bronze: 1-1499 SR
  • Silver: 1500-1999 SR
  • Gold: 2000-2499 SR
  • Platinum: 2500-2999 SR
  • Diamond: 3000-3499 SR
  • Master: 3500-3999 SR
  • Grandmaster: 4000+ SR
  • Top 500: Among the 500 best players in a region

What are the rewards for each rank?

Your rank at the end of each season determines how many Competitive Points you receive.

These Competitive points can be used as an alternative currency to Credits for purchasing cosmetic items.

The Competitive Points rewards for each rank are as follows:

  • Bronze: 65 Competitive Points
  • Silver: 125 Competitive Points
  • Gold: 250 Competitive Points
  • Platinum: 500 Competitive Points
  • Diamond: 750 Competitive Points
  • Master: 1200 Competitive Points
  • Grandmaster: 1750 Competitive Points

When does Season 13 begin?

It is currently unknown exactly when Season 13 will begin, but expect it to come within a few days of Season 12 ending.
