Overwatch’s December 11 update brought the Winter Wonderland event live, and also introduced a number of changes to the game’s heroes and during stream Dallas Fuel pro Timo ‘Taimou’ Kettunen found out the changes to McCree seem to be a major buff.

In addition to McCree, Brigitte, Doomfist and Bastion also saw significant changes to their abilities in the latest patch.

McCree’s changes focus on his “Fan the Hammer” fire ability, which fires all six of his shots in quick succession, and after the changes, it’s much more accurate.

In the clip, Taimou and his team are defending the point on Busan City Center, when an enemy Lucio drops their ultimate in a last-ditch effort to hold onto the point.

Taimou, playing McCree, quickly takes out the Brigitte, followed soon by the Lucio, both with Fan the Hammer to end the match.

What’s most impressive though, are Taimou’s stats after the match: of his 47 eliminations, an insane 44 of those were Fan the Hammer kills.

Killing enemies with one Fan the Hammer use wasn’t impossible before the update, but the changes to McCree’s accuracy with the ability mean the kills are easier than ever before.

Of course, Taimou is a professional Overwatch League player, so his experience with the changes might be more dramatic than most players, but the changes still look to be pretty strong in general.
