Seagull details his mixed opinion on new Overwatch hero Baptiste

Former Dallas Fuel pro and popular Twitch streamer Brandon ‘Seagull’ Larned tried out Baptiste, the newest Overwatch hero shortly after he arrived on the PTR and had mixed feelings on the new Support.

As he played around with the new hero, Seagull discovered some things he liked, and a few parts of Baptiste’s kit he wasn’t crazy about.

“Dude, I don’t like the drone (Immortality Field), I don’t think I want that type of gameplay mechanic,” the streamer said. “A drone that’s AoE you have to shoot and all this other stuff, I don’t know if I like it that much, it scares me.”

Seagull also discovered the power of Baptiste’s ultimate Amplification Matrix, when he and a teammate got wiped out with one Firestrike.

“One shot from a Firestrike, what? I didn’t even have time to put my E down, we just exploded.” he explained “What do you even do against that?”

Finally, the streamer discovered that Baptiste’s Immortality Field seems to be a powerful counter to Ana’s Biotic Grenade.

As his team is attacked, Seagull is able to turn the fight around just by using Baptiste’s Immortality drone to keep even characters affected by Ana’s grenades from dying.

Maybe Baptiste still has to grow on Seagull a little, but the streamer did seem to enjoy the new hero nonetheless.

With Overwatch’s newest hero now live on the PTR, there will no doubt be countless opinions about Baptiste to come.
