Overwatch streamer Daniel ‘Dafran’ Francesca showed off the power of the new Hanzo while playing a ranked game.

Hanzo recently received a major overhaul. Most significantly, Scatter Shot has been replaced with a new ability, Storm Shot, which allows Hanzo to rapid-fire up to six shots, each firing a full power but dealing reduced damage.

In addition, Hanzo has a new horizontal leap, and the rest of his kit has received some more subtle adjustments – for instance, the projectile speed of his arrows has been increased.

While Scatter Shot was one of the most criticized abilities in the game due to its random nature – making it potentially frustrating to both play with and against, depending on which player the RNG favors – it seems the replacement might still be in need of a little tuning.

Though Storm Shot deals reduced damage compared to regular arrows, landing headshots on low-health heroes can still be devastating, and in the hands of an accurate player that becomes possible at a much faster rate than ever before.

While streaming a ranked online game on Numbani, NRG Esports streamer Dafran utilized the new Hanzo to maximum effect, almost single-handedly securing the first offensive point.

Having found an early pick, Dafran pounces on the enemy back line, using Storm Shot to eliminate several opponents with amazing speed. The play ensures a quick wipe, allowing his team to capture the point and win the game.
