Positioning B.O.B. correctly can be the difference between an enormously impactful ultimate, and one that fails miserably. B.O.B., faithful servant as he is, will go wherever he is instructed with no regard for his personal safety, and many a player has experienced the misfortune of not paying enough attention to their positioning and accidentally sending B.O.B. charging to his immediate death.

Eichenwalde is one of many maps on which players might be vulnerable to this error, as it has several areas in which both players and B.O.B. could fall off the map. The end of the second stage, where the offensive team must cross a bridge to reach the castle entrance, is a particularly dangerous location.

Blizzard EntertainmentB.O.B. was an instant fan-favorite upon his reveal alongside Ashe.

While streaming a ranked match on Eichenwalde, Effect demonstrated a useful tactic for this location, which not only ensures B.O.B.’s safety but also puts him in a perfect location to have the maximum impact.

As Effect’s offensive team pushed the cart towards the stage two checkpoint, Effect used Ashe’s movement to fly into the air and place B.O.B. on one of the wooden ledges overlooking the capture point.

From his vantage point, B.O.B. has a perfect line-of-sight on any defenders present. In addition, should any turn their attention to him, they’ll likely be forced to turn their backs to the offensive push, leaving them more vulnerable.

Effect is due to compete for the Dallas Fuel in Season Two of the Overwatch League, which returns on February 14. Season Two will be the first time that Ashe will be available for the league, meaning fans will at last get to see what the world’s best players can get out of her in the game’s most elite setting.
