An Overwatch player encountered a Widowmaker glitch exploit on Busan’s Downtown point.

Like all games with any degree of complexity, Overwatch has its fair share of bugs and glitches.

In many cases, these bugs might not have a major impact on the game – such as the one that results in a rather amusing third-person mode for Wrecking Ball – but sometimes they can be exploited by players for an unintended advantage.

One such exploit has been identified on the Downtown section of the game’s newest map, Busan. On one side of the map, an upper platform exists that allows players to not only allows players a major view over the map, but also the ability to remain hidden and largely invulnerable.

On top of the platform are a collection of vents which players can walk through unimpeded and shoot through from inside. From the outside, however, the vents appear impenetrable to most forms of damage.

As a result, it’s possible for Widowmaker to sit in the vents, largely invisible to enemies, while remaining immune to return fire even if enemy players figure out where she is, as Overwatch player Ambidextrous discovered.

Though the glitch is arguably most powerful with Widowmaker, who benefits greatly from having a stationary, invulnerable vantage point, any hero with the necessary movement abilities can reach this location.

The bug is known to have been reported on the Overwatch forums, and Blizzard are often quick to respond to such issues. Until a fix is announced, however, it’s worth keeping an eye out for opponents abusing this spot if you’re playing on Busan.
