Dafran shows off insane Overwatch Dorado flank with Mei and Symmetra

Overwatch streamer Daniel ‘Dafran’ Francesca showed off a neat trick to surprise the enemy on Dorado that can easily apply to your ranked games.

During a March 17 stream, the former Overwatch League pro was attacking on Dorado and coordinated a big play with his team.

After the payload got across the first corner, Francesca took charge of the situation and instructed his squad to group up.

Dorado’s roofs can be quite handy.

“Come here! Come here!” he cried as the payload reached the first choke. After getting his team to heal up, he directed his Symmetra, “Are you ready? Make a TP [teleporter] on top of this.”

The Danish DPS prodigy then used Mei’s Ice Wall ability on the top of a roof and his Symmetra teammate followed up, putting the Teleporter on top of it.

“Take TP! Take TP!” he exclaimed as the team slid off the roof and right into the enemy’s backline, completely reversing their attack.

The flank maneuver seemed to be working out pretty well at first, with Dafran’s Wrecking Ball teammate using Pile Driver while he started to freeze the opposition.

Despite eventually going up four on two, the enemy DPS players were able to frag out and win the encounter by the skin of their teeth.

“Oh no!” the disappointed Dafran sighed after being eliminated.

Dafran played one season in the Overwatch League.

Regardless, even though the play failed, it was still extremely winnable, as one more kill could have changed the outcome. “It kinda worked, I guess,” the Orisa player stated.

Due to the respawns for the defenders being farther away, a quick regroup would still give the former pro’s team a bit of an advantage going into the next fight.

This isn’t the only crazy Mei shenanigans possible on Dorado’s roofs: Famously, in Apex Season 2 in Korea, Meta Athena used a very unique wall to take a super long flank on point A coming in behind Lunatic-Hai.

Of course, this was during a time when Symmetra didn’t have the same Teleporter ability, so the play Dafran used wouldn’t have been possible – but it’s cool to see how the game has evolved over the years.

Next time you’re on Dorado, try to coordinate a similar play with your team. It could end up winning you a major team fight.
