Crazy Overwatch play shows why D.Va is the best for Ultimate-eating

This Overwatch player somehow managed to survive not one, not two, but three different Ultimates as D.Va in the course of just seconds.

Tank heroes are meant to soak up loads of damage, but it’s not very often that you’ll survive a full-on onslaught from an entire team, especially ones that are all popping their Ults.

D.Va’s Defense Matrix can mitigate a lot of fire and help the team make a much-needed push. However, it usually isn’t powerful enough to completely neutralize this many attacks at once.

Reddit user LinkMoo shared their experience of blocking three Ultimates, blowing fellow players away in the process. They start off by absorbing Pharah’s by negating the rocket barrage. Directly after that, they are able to survive both Mei’s and Zarya’s without a scratch.

It’s a pretty impressive feat that kept the push alive for a bit longer, which can make all the difference between winning and losing a round.

Of course, your mileage with pulling off something this impressive will definitely vary depending on what rank you are. If you’re in Bronze or Silver, then you’ll be doing insane things like this more frequently as the players are generally less experienced. On the other hand, if you’re in Platinum or higher, then it’s going to be harder to perform these types of plays regularly.

D.Va remains one of the most popular heroes, so it’s nice to see she can still be viable considering she’s one of the original characters from when the game launched back in 2016. One major reason for this is the mobility she has for a tank, as well as her ability to clear off an entire point with her self-destructing mech Ultimate.

Her popularity also makes her the frequent subject of cosplays, as we saw with this absolutely jaw-dropping take on the former professional gamer.

No matter the direction Overwatch goes in, it seems clear that D.Va will always find a place. With changes like hero pools coming on the horizon, it’ll be interesting to see what the future for her and the other heroes look like.
