ZooMaa on FaZe Performance at CWL Anaheim “We haven’t practiced for three weeks”

The performance by the FaZe Clan Call of Duty team over the CWL Anaheim weekend can only really be described as lackluster.

The elite level team have struggled to prepare for the tournament due to injury with Tommy ‘ZooMaa’ Paparatto’s wrist and speculation that the team attempted to engineer a roster change after the playoffs to replace James ‘Clayster’ Eubanks.

As a result of both of those issues, the team struggled in their group games at the $200,000 event, winning only two games and drawing two games, putting them firmly into the loser bracket.

We talked to ZooMaa after his side narrowly defeated eRa Gaming in the group stage, and he explained that they’d been struggling to practice.

“We have valid excuses, I don’t like to say excuses, but we haven’t played together for over three weeks. Clay having a root canal didn’t help either.

“It’s hard for us to find that rhythm really fast without having any practice or playing with each other for three weeks.

“So it’s a valid reason but we choked a lot and made a lot of mistakes we definitely could have fixed.”

Whether FaZe can pull it together and put in a loser bracket run remains to be seen, but with speculation still rife that a roster change will happen after Anaheim, you have to question how far they can go.
