Winner’s Round 2

Ghost Gaming: Maux, SpaceLy, Lacefield, LlamaGod

Team EnVyUs: JKap, SlasheR, John, Apathy

For the first match on Saturday of the Call of Duty Championship, former World Champions Team EnVyUs would match up against a hot Ghost Gaming squad.

Starting off with Scorch Hardpoint, the two teams found themselves in a neck and neck match. Due to the fast-paced nature of the map, no decisive winner could be crowned until the final seconds, with EnVy grinding it out for the 250-226 victory.

Momentum from the Hardpoint win seemingly carried over to the next Retaliation SnD for the Boys in Blue. Their map presence was too much for Ghost, shutting down every push and play call, rolling to a 6-1 win and a 2-0 series lead.

Austin ‘SlasheR’ Liddicoat dictated the pace of the game on Throwback Uplink, enabling the remainder of the EnVy roster to roam the map freely. While the match was back and forth, a last-second buzzer beater was hit, giving EnVy the 6-5 win, and the series 3-0.

Ghost Gaming will now need to make a Loser’s Bracket run for the remainder of the tournament to keep their CoD Champs hopes alive.
