StarLadder Reveals Plans for a $300,000 CS:GO Tournament in Early 2018

StarLadder will host a fourth installment of the popular StarSeries i-League CS:GO events in February 2018 with an impressive $300,000 prize pool. Due to take place from February 17th - 25th, the tournament will take place in the Kiev Cybersport Arena, Ukraine.

The Cybersport Arena has played host to a number of StarLadder organized events in the past and was one of the first dedicated LAN arenas to be seen in esport. StarSeries i-League S4 will play host to 16 of the best teams in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, with 11 receiving direct invites and the other five slots being decided in regional qualifiers. The Asian qualifier, which will include names like TyLoo and Flash Gaming, will take place from December 28th - 31st.

The qualifiers for North America and Europe are yet to be announced but StarLadder states that more information will be made available soon.

FaZe Clan won StarSeries i-League S3 back in April of 2017, claiming a total of $125,000 after defeating Astralis 2-1 in the Grand Final. Now boasting an even more stacked roster, after the addition of Ladislav 'GuardiaN' Kovács and Olof 'olofmeister' Kajbjer to their roster, FaZe Clan will go into the Kiev event as one of the favorites once again, assuming that they are invited. The StarSeries i-League events often attract a stacked lineup but the fact that the event finishes just two days before the start of the $500,000 IEM Katowice 2018 event could mean that some teams opt to sit it out.
