Roster Featuring Havok Joins New Organization for 2018 CWL New Orleans Open

After a number of weeks of uncertainty, Call of Duty roster led by Colt "Havok" McLendon have secured a new organization to represent for the upcoming CWL New Orleans open event. Havok, having previously been with eRa Eternity at the outset of the Call of Duty: WWII season, was dropped from the team after their disappointing top 64 finish at CWL Dallas. Since then, he and a number of other free agents formed a new roster. Alongside Mikhail "Blfire" Glushenok, Tyree "Legal" Glover and Tanner "Mosh" Clark, the team began to perform well in the online CWL 2K tournaments, placing top 16, and then top 8 in the two weekly tournaments immediately following the Dallas event. Despite their clearly well formed team, which on paper look a formidable roster in competitive Call of Duty, the squad found themselves without an organization only a week before the scheduled start of CWL New Orleans, on January 12th.   Read More:   However, with only days before the start of the tournament, Esports organization InControl Gaming announced the recruitment of the roster, which would represent them at the New Orleans event. CEO of InControl Gaming, TJay, gave this statement on their recruitment of the roster;
"InControl saw a team with tremendous talent open up an opportunity for us to expand into a different bracket of players. We worked with Legal for the LCQ in Infinite Warfare, and felt comfortable with this team's recent success in the 2K. We believe this roster will be one of the breakout rosters from open bracket given the talent on this team, and we cannot wait to see what they bring this weekend at NOLA."
Despite their strong performances in the online 2K's, the team was still too low in the North American Pro Point ladder to snag a spot in Pool Play, and therefore will be required to fight through the open bracket if they are to walk away with a share of the $200,000 prize pool. The 2018 CWL New Orleans open takes place January 12th - January 14th at the Ernest Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. With 272 teams set to compete, the event will be the largest major open event in the history of Call of Duty Esports. x
