Red Reserve Sweep Aside eUnited to Continue CWL New Orleans Lower Bracket Run

CWL New Orleans

Championship Lower Bracket Round 6

Red Reserve: Joshh, Rated, Joee, Zer0

 eUnited: Clayster, Arcitys, Prestinni, SiLLY

Red Reserve's lower bracket march continues after a win over eUnited sees them advance into the top four. CWL New Orleans continues to deliver epic series after epic series. While the match between Red Reserve and eUnited wasn't as lengthy as some, the 3-0 scoreline doesn't do justice to the intensity of the games. Sainte Marie du Mont Hardpoint kicked off the series, the very same map on which Red eliminated OpTic from the event earlier in the day. Once again, it wouldn't be an easy win for the European squad, but big plays all around saw them secure the first victory 250-200.

Things would get even closer on USS Texas Search and Destroy. As is often the case for Red on USS Texas, the team's success was punctuated by highlights from Trei 'Zer0' Morris's sniper rifle, but streaks for Rhys 'Rated' Price and some clever strategy were also stars of a 6-5 win to move them to match point. eUnited's tournament life rested on Flak Tower capture the flag, and they were able to draw first blood with a capture in the first half. After the side switch, however, Red Reserve came alive, spurred on by a streak from Joseph 'Joee' Pinnington to first tie up the score, and then enable the last-minute push that gave them both the map and series victory. Red Reserve move on to the lower bracket semi-final, where they will face Rise Nation. eUnited are eliminated in 5th-6th, a placement that is beginning to become quite familiar to the team.
