The decision to randomly draw the relegation teams into the CWL Global Pro League for Stage Two has been criticized by a number of pro players.
Red Reserve, Cloud9, Ghost Gaming and Fnatic all qualified for Stage Two via the double elimination relegation tournament that took place one day before CWL Anaheim in June.
Red and Cloud9 both qualified via the winner bracket but were still randomly included alongside Ghost Gaming and Fnatic in the random draw to decide which group they'd be put into.
Rhys 'Rated' Price from Red has now spoken out on Twitter to complain after falling short to eUnited and Splyce in Group Yellow of the GPL. C9 captain Patrick 'Aches' Price backed up his sentiments as he faces Group Green the following weekend, going up against OpTic Gaming, EnVyUs and Epsilon.
We've reached out to both for further comment.
The CWL Global Pro League playoffs for Stage Two takes place between Friday July 28th and 30th at the MLG Arena in Columbus, Ohio, playing through double elimination bracket.
Luminosity, Fnatic, FaZe Clan, Enigma6, eUnited and Splyce will be joined by the top two teams from Group Green, taking place between Friday July 21st and 23rd.
