PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS has reached a sales milestone after being available for purchase on Steam for under 6 months.
First going live on March 23rd on Steam, a PC gaming catalog, PUBG has become one of the most recognized titles in the gaming community after bursting onto the scene.
The battle royale layout features players being dropped on an island at the beginning of the match without any equipment, forcing them to search for weapons, ammunition, armor, and other forms of gear while trying to eliminate enemies.
It is regularly one of the most-watched titles on the streaming platform Twitch, with major personalities such as Dr DisRespect assisting in driving up the popularity since its release.
Announced by developer Brendan 'PlayerUnknown' Greene on Twitter, over 10 million copies have been sold in under 6 month's time for early access, making it one of the most successful games of 2017 thus far.
Along with the sales, PUBG has continued to rise in concurrent players, hitting over 900,000 at one point during the invitational at Gamescom in August, passing up titans such as Valve's Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Although no concrete date has been announced, Microsoft plans to have the game released on the Xbox One in late 2017.
