OpTic Gaming Officially Announces New CS:GO Roster and Coach, ImAPet Releases Statement

OpTic Gaming has officially announced the signing of an all-Danish CS:GO roster, confirming reports from numerous news outlets. The OpTic Gaming CS:GO team has officially parted ways with its North American contingent and gone with a full Danish roster as earlier reports suggested.

Shahzeeb ‘ShahZaM’ Khan and Peter ‘stanislaw’ Jarguz have been replaced by Heroic’s Jakob ‘JUGi’ Hansen and Marco ‘Snappi’ Pfeiffer while the team's coach, Chet 'ImAPet' Singh, has been replaced by former North coach Casper 'ruggah' Due. The move comes just two months after the Danish / North American roster formed and could mark the end of the organization's attempt to have a team competing in North American leagues unless all players decide to make a move.

The move comes at a time of significant uncertainty for OpTic Gaming as rumors about the breakup of their long-standing Call of Duty team reached fever pitch on April 23rd. Shortly after the announcement, ImAPet posted a statement where he described his entire time with OpTic Gaming as being an unstable one and made some veiled comments about OpTic's parent company, saying "I hope Infinite has gained some valuable experience in what to do and what not to do in CS:GO".
"Since joining OpTic I haven't had much stability. Everyday was a challenge since joining but I was up for it and gave it my 110% everyday even when the environment around me felt dead. With that said, I am grateful for the experiences I gained with the NA and EU lineup that helped me further develop as a coach and helped me fix my flaws that I had on CLG. I hope Infinite has gained some valuable experience in what to do and what not to do in CS:GO."

ImAPet went on to explain that there was still a lot of information that will likely come out in due course. He finished off by echoing the sentiments of Davis 'Hitch' Edwards on Hector 'H3CZ' Rodriguez, making it clear that the OpTic owner gets "way too much shit" and has done "nothing but the right things behind the scenes."
"Thank you to all my teammates from the NA and EU lineup who have been a part of my journey as well. Lastly, thank you Hector for always being there and being a overall great guy. I think a lot of people give him way too much shit, trust me when I say he has done nothing but the right things behind the scenes. He is still the same guy you guys know and love."
It is currently uncertain what ShahZaM, stanislaw, or ImAPet will do next but it looks like they are currently all exploring new options, with ImAPet saying he can be contacted at [email protected] or via direct message on Twitter. The OpTic Gaming CS:GO roster now consists of:
  •  Kristian ‘k0nfig’ Wienecke
  •  Nicklas ‘gade’ Gade
  •  René ‘cajunb’ Borg
  •  Jakob ‘JUGi’ Hansen
  •  Marco ‘Snappi’ Pfeiffer
  •  Casper 'ruggah' Due (Coach)
