CWL New Orleans
OpTic Gaming: FormaL, Crimsix, Karma, Scump
Epsilon: Dqvee, Vortex, Hawqeh, Nathan
OpTic Gaming began their journey at CWL New Orleans with a relatively comfortable victory over European squad Epsilon.
Despite a spirited effort from the British roster, the slaying power OpTic are known best for, thanks to a particularly strong performance from Scump, allowed the North American’s to quickly close out a three map series.
Map 1 hardpoint was closely contested, with Epsilon taking an early lead, however it was short lived, as the hardpoints rotated back to initial center hill, OpTic had gained a slender lead themselves. They were unrelenting on the second set of rotations, cruising to a more comfortable victory in the end.
Search and Destroy was more straight forward for the Green Wall, often putting themselves in advantageous positions on both offence and defence, showing that London Docks is a map they know how to play this mode on. Epsilon regardless still put up a fight, but were unable to get any momentum on their round wins, ultimately being shut out three rounds to six.
Proving they still had fight in them, Epsilon took an early 1-0 advantage in Flak Tower Capture the Flag, but thanks to an incredible kill streak from the superstar Scump, OpTic quickly regained and brought it level. Resuming at the half with score tied at two captures each, the second half began slowly, with both teams cautious not to make any mistakes. Eventually OpTic took the lead, and with only a minute left, time was too short for Epsilon to come back.
