Group B at the ESL Pro League Season 6 Finals has come to a close with the likes of Ninjas in Pyjamas and North failing to make the playoff stage.
Both NiP and North were favorites to make the playoffs going into the group stage where they would be playing against the likes of Misfits, OpTic Gaming, and NRG Esports.
The favorites to win the group, though, were SK Gaming. The Brazilians lived up to those expectations, dropping only one match on route to the top position.
This means that the EPICENTER 2017 and BLAST Pro Series champions will advance directly to the semifinal stage.
As for the quarterfinal spots, those were also claimed by teams that came from the North American division of the league – OpTic Gaming and Misfits.
Sean ‘[email protected]’ Gares’ Misfits roster surprised everyone with as they took victories against NiP, North, and NRG Esports to secure third place in the group.
OpTic Gaming had one of the most impressive runs. After a close 14-16 loss to NiP in their first match, the Europeans bounced back with wins over SK Gaming, Misfits, and NRG Esports.
This secured Adam ‘friberg’ Friberg’s squad a spot in the quarterfinals and served to once again prove that the roster is constantly improving.
