During the Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer Exhibition stream, new information regarding the Capture the Flag game mode was revealed by Sledgehammer.
With WWII set to release on November 3rd, the CoD community has been anxiously waiting for the return of 'boots on the ground' combat after three years of 'advanced movement.'
In order to provide more information on multiplayer, Sledgehammer hosted an Exhibition stream with professional players
at Gamescom, an annual gaming convention in Cologne, Germany.
Now that BOTG will be implemented once again, fan favorite game mode CTF will be included in the competitive rotation, however, a new twist will be added in the ruleset.
Announced by former professional player Ray 'Rambo' Lussier, when a flag is pulled at the end of the match, extra time will be added to the clock at the end of regulation in order for teams to potentially get a last-second capture.
In the past, the game would end as time expired, not allowing any chance at a comeback.
You can view the clip from the WWII Multiplayer Exhibition stream below.
A Private Beta will be available to fans that pre-ordered the game, playable between August 25th and August 28th for the PlayStation 4 and September 1st through September 4th for both the PS4 and Xbox One.
