Mindfreak Announce Roster Change to Australian CoD Team

The Mindfreak Call of Duty team has revealed they’ll be undergoing a roster change ahead of the $200,000 CWL Anaheim event.

The Australian roster took part in Stage One of the CWL Global Pro League after accruing the most amount of CoD Pro Points in the Asia-Pacific region.

Heading into Group Blue, there was very little expectation that they’d come anywhere but last as they were put up against Cloud9, Splyce and Team EnVyUs.

Defying the odds, they placed third ahead of Cloud9 on map difference, booking their spot in Stage Two and the Call of Duty World Championships for 2017.

Despite their recent achievement, it’s not completely unexpected to see Denholm ‘Denz’ Taylor announced back in the lineup in replacement for Cody ‘Excite’ Rugolo.

Denz left Mindfreak in December 2016 in order to pursue an opportunity with Tainted Minds, leaving a team he’d spent over 2 years with.

The move didn’t quite go to plan, as his Tainted Minds squad were beaten by MF at CWL Sydney I and CWL Dallas, missing out the CWL Global Pro League.

Denz’s return to the Mindfreak team puts any speculation to bed about him moving overseas to compete in either North America or Europe. He was heavily linked to Cloud9, but it’s believed the deal fell through due to a lack of time to get papers organized.

The team is now expected to move out to the US for a couple of months in order to prepare for CWL Anaheim taking place between June 16th and 18th and Stage Two of the Global Pro League.

Mindfreak CoD:

  • australia Conrad ‘Shockz’ Rymarek
  • australia Lincoln ‘Fighta’ Ferguson
  • australia Denholm ‘Denz’ Taylor

The future for Excite is unclear, with speculation that he’ll be teaming up with a host of the current free agents and looking to land a organization sponsorship. With over 40,000 CoD Pro Points for the APAC region, he’ll take whatever team he joins, straight to the top of the standings.
