Call of Duty Championships 2017
Lower Bracket Round Three
Luminosity: Classic, Slacked, Saints, Octane
eUnited: SiLLY, Arcitys, Prestinni, Clayster
Luminosity continue to dominate the lower bracket of the Call of Duty Championships, eliminating eUnited with a 3-0 sweep.
The CWL Anaheim champions took the long road to championship Sunday. Having fallen to this very eUnited squad in the first round of the winner bracket, they set about dismantling Europe as a region by systematically eliminating almost every representative.
As a result, Luminosity were coming in hot off a victory over Splyce, while eUnited had just been handed a tough defeat in an epic series against Team EnVyUs. Unfortunately, in the first map eUnited weren’t able to regain any momentum, losing a tough Retaliation Hardpoint 250-213.
Next up was Crusher SnD, and while OpTic Gaming were putting on a clinic for FaZe in the winner bracket, Luminosity were doing the same for eUnited, matching dominance for an emphatic 6-0 victory to claim match point.
Throwback Uplink was the most intense map of the series. With eUnited’s life on the line they fought hard to stay in the match, trading back and forth with Luminosity and eventually tying the game up at 10-10 with a throw in the final seconds to force overtime. Unfortunately, it was Luminosity that scored first, a 42-second dunk that eUnited couldn’t respond to.
Luminosity have secured a minimum top-four finish and a place in the lower bracket semi-final, where they will face the winner between FaZe Clan and Rise Nation. For eUnited, their Infinite Warfare season ends with a top-six placement.
Luminosity vs eUnited: 3-0
Retaliation HP: 250-213
