Call of Duty Championships 2017
Lower Bracket Round Three
Luminosity: Classic, Slacked, Saints, Octane
Splyce: Jurd, MadCat, Bance, Zer0
The final European team has been eliminated from the Call of Duty Championships, as Splyce fell to Luminosity in the lower bracket.
Having narrowly beaten out domestic rivals Epsilon in the previous series, Splyce would face Luminosity for their tournament life. The pair had met in all three of the previous events, with Splyce coming out on top only the first time, and once again in was Luminosity that emerged victorious.
The North American squad got out to a hot start on Breakout Hardpoint, and though Splyce made a valiant effort to come back the lead was ultimately too great for Luminosity, who closed it out at 250-211.
Throwback Search and Destroy would likely be critical for Splyce if they were to claim victory in the series, but it wasn’t to be. It was another close map, but again Luminosity were able to clinch it at 6-4, putting themselves on match point.
Splyce again played Luminosity close to begin with on Precinct Uplink, with the teams tied at 3-3 at the half. After the switch, however, Luminosity got rolling, and it would ultimately be the most one-sided score-line of the series as LG put up twelve unanswered points to win 15-3 and complete the sweep.
Of the four European teams that reached the bracket stages of the Call of Duty Championships, three were eliminated by Luminosity, who carved a path of destruction through the region on their way to an upcoming rematch with eUnited, who originally sent them to the lower bracket.
Luminosity vs Splyce: 3-0
Breakout HP: 250-211
Throwback SnD: 6-4
Precinct Uplink: 15-3
