The epic matchup between OpTic Gaming and Splyce went down to the wire as both elite teams duked it out on the main stage.
The crowd at the Amway Center were undoubtedly in favor of OpTic, with those in attendance erupting in cheers and groans depending on how well Seth ‘Scump’ Abner and his team performed.
Splyce almost broke the hearts of those in attendance too, going 2-1 up in favor after winning the crucial third map Uplink that resulted in a nail biting finish.
One of the key moments that everyone watching will remember was the FTL play by Splyce player Jordan ‘Jurd’ Crawley.
OpTic attempted to block Jurd’s view from top food with a smoke, but in typical fashion he decided to fly down to the action, killing Matt ‘FormaL’ Piper, before using his FTL to snap on Scump and destroy their plans.
During the confusion Ian ‘Crimsix’ Porter managed to sneak away with the Drone but it wasn’t enough as he was intercepted.
Unfortunately for Jurd his Splyce team went on to lose the following Hardpoint and last map SnD, getting dropped to the loser bracket where they would eventually eliminate Epsilon to book their spot in the top eight to face Luminosity for top six.
