John of Luminosity Clutched Up With a Nasty 1v3 Against Rise Nation at CWL New Orleans

John ‘John’ Perez of Luminosity Gaming clutched up against Rise Nation with a nasty 1v3 at the CWL New Orleans Open.

Taking place between January 12th and January 14th, the CWL New Orleans Open is the largest Call of Duty LAN event in MLG history with over 250 teams facing off for a prize pool of $200,000.

A total of 16 teams qualified for Pool Play based on their CWL Pro Point standing prior to the tournament, with major implications for multiple teams riding on their success at the event, including qualification for the Pro League.

Coming off a 3-0 victory over Red Reserve, the Luminosity gaming roster looked to keep their momentum up while going into their next match against a Rise Nation squad that was able to take down Enigma6 3-1.

The series would ultimately end up being incredibly close, with the two powerhouse North American teams eventually making their way to a game 5 Search and Destroy on London Docks.

With the map tied 4-4, John found himself in a 1v3 situation against Rise, where the veteran competitor ended up clutching up by getting a kill with three different weapons and gave his team the edge.

Luminosity went on to win the series 3-2, placing them at the top of Group C at CWL New Orleans, and will finish off Friday of the event against an 0-2 Enigma6 squad.
