EPICENTER Reveals Closed Qualifier Line Up for their $500,000 CS:GO Tournament

The event organizer EPICENTER has revealed the full line ups for their European, CIS and North American closed qualifiers.

EPICENTER 2017 will be held in the Yubileyny Sports Palace in St Petersburg, Russia, from the 28th to the 29th of October.

The event boasts a $500,000 prize pool and a total of eight teams will compete. The organizer has invited six high tier teams. The confirmed attendees are Astralis, G2 Esports, Gambit, North, SK Gaming, and Virtus.pro.

The remaining two spots will be fought over in a series of closed qualifiers.

A total of six open qualifiers, two per region, were held and the best teams from each proceeded through to the closed qualifiers. EPICENTER then invited six more teams to join them.

In an official post on their website, EPICENTER revealed the format for the qualifiers. The group stage will use a GSL best of three format. The two best teams in each group will advance to the playoffs, in which they will compete for a place at the main event in St Petersburg.

The two best teams at the playoffs will claim the remaining two wildcard qualifier spots and complete the line up for the EPICENTER 2017 tournament.
