Epic Games has announced that a weapon will be removed from Fortnite: Battle Royale in a future update and head to the 'Vault.'
The Battle Royale title has amassed worldwide acclaim since its release in mid-September 2017 as one of the top games within the industry for its popularity within the content creation community, along with its twist on the growing genre.
With the player base developing on a daily basis, Epic Games, the developers of Fortnite, have remained in constant contact with the community in regards to a series of changes and fixes for the game since its release, including a collection of updates to introduce a variety of new content.
Although numerous weapons, consumables, and other in-game items have been added over time, Epic Games revealed that they are planning on sending all varieties of the standard SMG to the 'Vault' in a future update to make sure the 'balance of itemization' is in place.
Both the Tactical and Suppressed SMG's will remain in the game for players to use, with more information behind the decision revealed by the developer in a Reddit post.
As of writing, it is unknown if the standard SMG will return from the Vault in the future, or if the developer has any plans to change the characteristics of the weapon in its time away.
