DreamHack Winter Will Feature a $250,000 H1Z1 Elite Series Tournament

The second stop of the H1Z1 Elite Series worldwide circuit will take place at DreamHack Winter in Jönköping, Sweden.  Scheduled to take place between December 1st and December 4th at Elmia AB in Sweden, DreamHack Winter will feature a variety of different esports tournaments and activities for attendees to watch and participate in throughout the duration of the event. Titles such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, Hearthstone, Smash Bros Melee, and a mix of other games will be put on display for fans, featuring some of the top teams and players of their respective games. Announced on October 10th, the H1Z1 Elite Series will make its second stop of a worldwide circuit with two separate tournaments - one for solo players, and one for 5-player teams. The solo-event will include 60 players battling for a prize pool of $100,000, with a number of qualifiers to determine which individuals will participate in the tournament on Sunday, December 3rd. Top teams from the previous DreamHack Atlanta tournament, such as Counter Logic Gaming, eRa, Hail Chapters, and Luminosity Gaming will be invited as a portion of the 12 teams set to compete for a pool of $150,000, with prizing being awarded based on performance over three rounds.

How to Quality - Solo Competition

  • Registered players will be broken up into 2 groups, each playing 2 matches.
  • Matches are scored and cumulative points determine overall placement.
  • Top 20 players from each group will proceed to the finals.
  • The next 5 from each group will be selected as standbys in case of any no-shows in the finals.
  • Order of the standbys is determined by their overall score in the qualifiers.
  • Solo Qualifiers will take place on Friday, December 1, 2017
  • The Solo Tournament will take place on Sunday, December 3, 2017

How to Qualify - Team Competition

  • Teams will be broken up into flights based on the total number of teams selected to participate.
  • Top scoring teams at the end of each flight will advance to the finals.
  • A total of 7 teams will advance to the finals.
  • 2 teams will be selected as standbys in case of any no-shows in the finals.
  • Order of the standbys is determined by their overall score in the qualifiers.
  • Team Qualifiers will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2017
  • The Team Tournament will take place on Sunday, December 3, 2017
