An amateur player lost a round of Search and Destroy in the Call of Duty World League 2K Tournament due to not having enough time to defuse the bomb after shooting Matthew 'FormaL' Piper's body.
Taking place on Sunday, November 12th, the first CWL 2K Tournament of the CoD: WWII season saw the opening glance of real competition between a number of different rosters since the initial release of the game on November 3rd.
With the CWL Dallas Open
scheduled as the first major LAN event of the year between December 8th and December 10th, teams from across the world have been attempting to rack up coveted 'CWL Pro Points' in order to assist in seeding for the tournament and put themselves in a better position throughout the season.
When going up against the reigning 2017 CoD Champion OpTic Gaming squad, an amateur player found himself in a 1v1 situation against FormaL on USS Texas SnD and was able to take out the Champs MVP with only seconds to spare.
However, potentially getting a tad over-zealous, the player decided to shoot FormaL's body for a short duration instead of just heading to the bomb, which may have prevented him from being to defuse in time, thus losing the round.
OpTic would end up taking the series 3-0, and went on to be victorious during the first 2K Tournament of the CoD: WWII season with a win over Luminosity Gaming in the Grand Finals.
