New data from Google Trends suggests that Minecraft is on the rise and becoming more popular worldwide than Fortnite Battle Royale. But, what does it mean for Epic Games’ title?

Fortnite is quite simply a gaming phenomenon, breaking records all over the place and attracting attention from all corners of the globe. It helps that Epic’s popular game is free-to-play – meaning that anyone with an internet connection and gaming device can get their hands on it.

However, in recent weeks, this popularity has slowly slipped as players have vented frustrations about new updates and weapons despite the build-up to hugely anticipated World Cup. In fact, the decline has reached such a point that it has been overtaken on Google by another gaming phenomenon.

Epic GamesFortnite’s constant updates has kept it atop the gaming world.

According to new data from Google Trends, Minecraft has once again surpassed the battle royale rival as a Worldwide trend – racking up a growth for the first time since 2017. However, it still lags behind its massive peak from the summer of 2013, where it reached a trends score of 100.

However, unfortunately for Minecraft, the sandbox game still falls behind the battle royale title in the North American market. The free-to-play giant holds a slender one point lead over the game despite falling off somewhat worldwide.

Why is Minecraft so popular again?

Now, of course, this doesn’t mean that Epic Games’ battle royale title is immediately going to lose its massive player base to Minecraft and fall off the face of the earth. In fact, there are probably a few reasons for the rising popularity of Minecraft.

One explanation behind the uptick in searches for Minecraft could easily be the fact that a new spin-off game was announced at the recently wrapped up E3 event and that has sparked interest from players.

Another could simply be that the player base that remains are searching out new downloads like mods, skin packs, and online servers to expand their experience – leading to Google picking up on the growing interest.

It remains to be seen if Fortnite Battle Royale can regain top spot from Mojang’s once massively popular title, or if Minecraft is really back on the rise and the year 2013 is happening all over again.

Where to find Fortnite Iron Man jetpacks

After many long months, the fan-favorite jetpack has finally been re-added to Fortnite. This time however it’s straight from Iron Man, due to the special Marvel-themed season. Here’s a simple guide for how you can get your hands on the item.

One of the more interesting and least-hated items added to Fortnite since its launch is the jetpack. After being available in normal modes for a while, the item quickly became a fan-favorite, and getting one was pretty much required if you wanted to stand a chance in the final couple circles.

Epic Games decided to remove the item back in 2018 and instead, limited it to a number of different LTMs. Now, it seems like the developer has at least temporarily reversed course, as the item is now spawning in the base game again with a Marvel-themed twist.

The new jetpack operates exactly the same as the old item that was removed from Fortnite a while ago.

What is the Iron Man jetpack?

From everything we’ve seen, it appears as if the Iron Man jetpack operates basically the same way the older jetpack did back in 2018, and that this new item is basically just a simple cosmetic re-skin.

The jetpack takes the slot of one of your items on the bottom right-hand side of the screen. If you want to use it though, you don’t have to have the item selected. All you need to do is jump and then hold down the jump button in order to raise yourself into the air, allowing you to use your weapons. Operation, as expected, is fairly simple.

The Iron Man jetpack can be found through the map as floor loot.

Where can I find the Iron Man jetpack?

Apparently, the only place to find the Iron Man jetpack is as floor loot appearing randomly around the map for the moment. There doesn’t appear to be any specific, sure-fire, place to find it, so you’ll just have to keep looking until it pops up.

The item also doesn’t seem to show up from chests, which means it’s even harder to find than some weapons and other items. Of course, this could all change as time goes on.

It’s currently unknown how long the item will be in the game for, although logic would dictate that the longest it would be available would be the end of the current season given its Marvel theme.
