TFT Galaxies Set 3 full reveal — new units, classes, traits, more

Andrew Amos

Riot has revealed a first look at a more fleshed-out version of Teamfight Tactics’ set 3, TFT: Galaxies, ahead of its March release, and we’ve got everything you need to know about the next collection of units, classes, and more.

Rise of the Elements is on its way out in the coming weeks, with Galaxies expected to take over Riot’s autobattler, Teamfight Tactics, almost a year after its release.

The new set takes TFT to space, incorporating Star Guardians and more extraterrestrial champions. On top of that, every game will be played in a different Galaxy, giving players access to a bunch of different win conditions.

TFT: Galaxies has been in the pipeline for months, but only recently have players seen how Riot’s vision will be playing out. On February 19, Riot revealed the new Galaxies mechanic, which will be a replacement for the current Elemental Rifts.

Every element of the game is up for changing, not just the board, with players being transported to a different galaxy every game. You could be spawned in with pre-set items, or have only certain cost champions appear at carousels — the possibilities are set to be endless.

There will also be more Galaxies added as the season goes on, so while there might only be a couple of choices at launch, there’s bound to be more variety as the season goes on.

Now, on February 26, Riot have given players a deeper look into what champions will be making the jump into TFT: Galaxies. While the space theme has been known for a while, players were still curious as to what units would make the cut.

Star Guardians feature prominently, with six out of a possible 14 being made available in the Galaxies set. Ahri, Neeko, Poppy, Soraka, Syndra, and Zoe made the cut as Star Guardians, although other champions like Xayah also feature in the set in a different trait.

Units like Yasuo will make their return for another set, while all new champions like Fizz will be making their appearance in TFT for the first time.

New units also means new classes and traits for players to tinker around with in their team compositions.

While there are some returning classes, like Sorcerer, Blademaster, and Mystic, for the most part, they are all brand-new. The new Demolitionist class gives units the chance to stun on all ability casts, while Mana-Reaver is a mysterious class only associated with one unit for now — Irelia.

The new traits are also opening up new combinations for players. The Mech-Pilot trait gives players the chance to combine three units into one mega unit, slaying everyone on the battlefield with super powerful abilities.

Cybernetic, Star Guardian, and Mech-Pilot (L-R) are three of the new traits added in TFT: Galaxies.
