Riot Games have revealed that the next new champion joining Teamfight Tactics will be Pantheon.

Pantheon recently got a full overhaul in League of Legends itself, and now the champion is set to make his way to Riot’s autobattler.

In Teamfight Tactics, Pantheon appears to be have Dragon and Guardian traits – using his ‘Dragonslayer’ skin rather than his default look – and his new ultimate ability Grand Starfall carries over to the autobattler. In the teaser, he is seen nearly one-shotting a neutral dragon with the ability, dealing an immense amount of damage.

As the game’s third Dragon champion, Pantheon will offer players a little more versatility to work around the trait bonus, as previously the only way to benefit from it was to field both Shyvana and Aurelion Sol.

Pantheon will be a tier 5 unit, making him one of the most powerful base-level champions in the game, costing five gold and not becoming available until the later stages of the game.

He will also be the sixth new champion to join Teamfight Tactics since the game’s launch, with Patch 9.14 having introduced Twisted Fate, and Patch 9.16 bringing with it the four new Hextech champions, Camille, Vi, Jayce, and Jinx.

Riot GamesPantheon will be wearing his ‘Dragonslayer’ skin in Teamfight Tactics.

Riot Games have said they initially want to increase the Teamfight Tactics champion pool to around 60 units – it currently sits at 55 in the live game – so players can expect to see several more champions coming in future patches. After they hit 60, new champions will become less frequent, and will likely be swapped in and out rather than expanding the number available at any one time.

Riot haven’t stated when Pantheon will be arriving on the live servers, but as he’s already in testing on the PBE it seems likely he could arrive with Patch 9.17, which is due on August 28.
