New League of Legends champion Qiyana is now playable on the Public Beta Environment (PBE).

Qiyana, The Empress of Elements, is the game’s latest champion, a solo-lane assassin with some unique new mechanics.

Her abilities have different effects depending on which “element” she is currently channeling. Using her “Terrashape” ability, Qiyana can draw power from Brushes, the River, or Walls, which then determines what additional effects her other abilities will have.

Qiyana’s abiltiies

Passice – Royal Privilege

The first attack or ability against an enemy champ deals bonus damage. This cooldown resets when she draws a new element.

Q – Edge of Ixtal

Qiyana slashes the area in front of her dealing damage. If her weapon is using an element, her weapon hurls forward as a projectile and explodes.

  • River – Roots opponents on hit.
  • Wall – Deals bonus damage to units with low health.
  • Brush – Leaves a stealth trail that gives movement speed.

W – Terrashape

Targeting an element, Qiyana dashes forward to gather its power. While enchanted, she gains movement speed near the element, attack speed, and bonus damage.

E – Audacity

Qiyana dashes a fixed distance towards a target, dealing damage to them.

R – Supreme Display of Talent

Qiyana creates a shockwave, knocking back enemies. Any River, Brush, or Wall hit by the shockwave then explodes dealing damage and briefly stunning enemies.

Qiyana isn’t due to go live until Patch 9.13, which is likely still weeks away with 9.12 only having arrived on June 11, but in the meantime players can get their first hands-on experience with Qiyana on the PBE.

In addition to Qiyana, the current version of the PBE also includes new Arcade skins for Caitlyn and Kai’Sa, including a Prestige version for Caitlyn, as well as Battle Boss skins for Qiyana and Yasuo.

How to use the League of Legends PBE

League of Legends players looking to try out Qiyana before she arrives on the live servers with Patch 9.13 will have to log into the Public Beta Environment.

To do so, players must download a separate PBE client, as well as signing up for a PBE account. In order to be eligible for a PBE account, your standard League of Legends account must be in good standing, at honor level 3 with no bans or restrictions on it.

PBE accounts will automatically be levelled up to 30, and it’s possible to earn Blue Essence by completing a repeatable mission. All content that requires testing will be available for a small amount of Blue Essence.
