Teamfight Tactics item cheat sheet: Combinations, effects, and more

Joe O'Brien

In League of Legends-based autobattler Teamfight Tactics, items are a crucial part of powering up your champions to secure victory.

Items can be secured either through drops from monsters in the PvE rounds, and during the shared draft phases, with each of the available champions carrying an item of some kind.

In the shared draft in particular, grabbing the item you need is often even more important than the champion it happens to be attached to, but in order to make the best possible decision you need to be able to recognize what each item does and how it might combine with others to form more powerful items.

Riot GamesChampions in the shared draft ‘carousel’ always carry an item.

Building items in Teamfight Tactics

There are two types of items in TFT: basic items, which offer a straightforward increase in a particular stat, and full items that provid additional effects. While basic items are certainly better than nothing, the full items are what can really power up a champion or team.

While it’s now possible to get full items directly from rare drops early in the game, or drops from the larger monsters like dragons later in the game, the majority of the full items you’ll be able to get a hold of are made by pairing up two basic items, with each unique combination making a different full item.

In response to feedback from players, Riot have now added the ability to check what two of your basic items will create when combined by hovering over them, but there’s still no in-game means of seeing what all the possible combinations create if you don’t already have the parts.

Riot GamesItems can be acquired as drops from the monsters in PvE rounds.

This can be particularly frustrating when you’re aiming for a particular full item but can’t remember exactly which other basic item you need – especially when it comes to the shared draft and that very item might be available, but you find yourself guessing as to which you should grab.

For those players who are newer to the game, or simply haven’t managed to memorize all of the possible combinations, you can refer to the tables below to see what items will be made by each pairing, and what effects the full items offer.
